Miss Lydia
I have been dancing since I was 4 years old and I was lucky enough turn my passion into my career. Dance teaching is so rewarding and I am fortunate to work with amazing teachers to nurture dancers and help them grow as individuals. I’ve been teaching for over 8 years and I graduated from the Royal Academy of Dance with a first-class degree in BA (Hons) Dance Education as well as gaining RAD Registered Teacher Status.
Alongside my degree, I completed the IDTA Level 3 and 4 Teaching Diplomas in Ballet and Tap, as well as teaching a variety of other styles such as modern jazz, contemporary and lyrical. A concept that is really important to me, is adapting my teaching for different learning styles and individual dancers in group classes and private lessons, for exams and dance choreography.
I knew from a being a child that I wanted to teach dance, and I love to continue my learning by attending courses, teaching workshops and attending dance classes myself to grow my skills as a dancer as well as a teacher.
Teaching at Theatre Dance Academy is an absolute pleasure and is always a highlight of my week. It is not just dance school, but a dance family that puts every child first and creates a fun, passionate atmosphere for everyone!
